83rd LOC Conference - Oct. 2-4 - Salem

Dear League of Oregon Cities members:

It is our pleasure, on behalf of all the mid-Willamette Valley, to invite you to the League of Oregon Cities 83rd Annual Conference in Salem, October 2-4. We are all very excited to host the first LOC conference in the mid-valley and we are planning exciting tours and special events for members and families, in Salem and the surrounding area. Fall weather is typically outstanding in the Willamette Valley: the leaves are beginning to turn color as the harvest season comes to an end, except for the grape harvest that is just getting underway. Our new state-of-the-art Salem Conference Center in the heart of downtown will host the LOC Conference. From here, attendees can easily stroll to our beautiful Riverfront Park and on the way take advantage of the endless amenities that downtown Salem has to offer, including art galleries, shopping, historic sites and restaurants. We are also planning a program that will get you out to the surrounding cities to learn about the exciting new projects they have underway and to enjoy their beautiful attractions. Our preliminary plans already include a haunted ghost walk, the Oregon Gardens, and a visit to Oregon’s premier state park, Silver Creek Falls State Park! To ensure that the 83rd Annual Conference is a success, planning the conference is in full swing. A committee of League members from all over the state are working on the educational and policy development side of the conference and a committee representing all of the cities in the area is busy working on the tours and social events. The only difficult part of coming to the LOC Annual Conference in Salem will be deciding which events to attend.

Mark your calendar today and come see all of us in October! We think you will be pleasantly surprised.
