Registration Required to Receive American Rescue Plan Funds

On April 15, the U.S. Treasury published a notice on its website providing a step-by-step process for cities and counties to receive American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds from the federal government. This is a critical notice that all cities need to read.

Cities eligible to receive direct payments will need to follow the steps provided by Treasury to allow for an orderly process of fund transfer from the federal government.  All cities that qualify for direct payment will be required to have a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number and an active registration within the System for Award Management (SAM) database at SAM.gov.

In addition, those cities receiving distributions through their respective state governments will also need a DUNS number to meet reporting requirements. Cities that don’t have a valid DUNS number can visit this site for further instruction.  Cities currently working through the CRF fund reimbursement process should already have a DUNS number.
