Are you dedicated to educating others about the benefits of alternative modes of transportation? Do you enjoy giving public presentations and building positive relationships with new people, especially youth? We have the perfect opportunity for someone who is creative, outgoing, and has the ability to interact with all ages and backgrounds.
Wilsonville's Transit department, SMART, is seeking a motivated self-starter with excellent customer service and organizations skills to develop and implement programs that promote alternative modes of transportation. Transportation Demand Management (TDM) is a program of information, encouragement and incentives provided by local or regional organizations to educate community members on transportation options and to optimize all modes in the system. The goal of TDM is to counterbalance the incentives to drive that are so prevalent in subsidies of parking and roads. Traditional and innovative technology-based services are used to help individuals use transit, ridesharing, walking, biking, and telework.
This role might be perfect for you if:
You want to make a distinct contribution to the community you serve.
You enjoy working with children and educators and are dedicated to promoting safe ways to walk+roll to school.
You are energized by speaking publicly and doing dynamic presentations for and about causes you believe in.
You view community engagement and working with your team and teams across your organization as key to supporting underserved communities.
Your are committed to providing transportation services that consistently exceed customer expectations while promoting the principles and practices of livable communities and sustainable development.
You can communicate effectively in English and in Spanish.
You have a passion for learning from those you work with as well as for training others.
You are interested in a part-time schedule in an organization with great benefits.
You want to join a forward-thinking team that will bring the best out of you.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment that values humor and play just as much as hard work.
