The City of West Linn is seeking a visionary and dynamic Community Development Director to lead our Planning, Building, and Economic Development initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of one of Oregon’s most livable communities.
As the Community Development Director, you will play a critical role in guiding West Linn’s future. Under the direction of the City Manager, you will:
• Oversee the Planning, Building, and Economic Development functions of the City, including direct management of Planning Department staff and the Building Official.
• Partner with local residents, businesses, and advisory groups to develop and implement a shared vision for West Linn’s future.
• Advise the City Manager, City Council, and advisory groups on key economic development and redevelopment projects.
• Represent West Linn at the county, regional, and state levels with networking, advocacy, and lobbying.
• Implement State and Regional Land Use, Housing, and Economic Development policies.
• Develop and enforce local policies and regulations that shape the community.
• Take the lead on transformative projects that enhance the city’s livability and economic vitality, like our Waterfront and VISION43 projects.
$116,326 – 153,763 annually
RETIREMENT/PENSION (Defined Benefit Program) – the City is enrolled in Oregon PERS and pays both the employer and employee contributions.
ADDITIONAL RETIREMENT BENEFIT – in addition to the employee’s regular compensation, the City pays four (4) percent of the employee’s earned salary. At the employee’s election, they may use this additional compensation to participate in a deferred compensation program offered by the City.
MEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION – 90% City paid.
ALTERNATE WORK SCHEDULE - City Hall operates on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
HOLIDAYS – 11 paid holidays per year.
VACATION LEAVE – 135 to 224 hours of paid vacation leave per year based on years of service.
MANAGEMENT LEAVE – 40 hours of paid management leave per year.
