The City of Gresham is seeking an administrative professional for an Administrative Assistant 2 position in the Police Department. The Administrative Assistant 2 performs a range of complex administrative support activities to contribute to an efficient Police Department office operation. The successful candidate must display advanced Microsoft office skills, provide excellent customer service skills in a fast-paced environment, proficiently juggle multiple tasks, pay great attention to detail, and interact collaboratively within a team environment.

The City of Gresham is near the scenic Columbia River Gorge, spectacular Mount Hood Recreation area, and minutes from Portland. Position Description
The Administrative Assistant 2 position provides a wide range of administrative support to the Police Department. This position will report to the Senior Administrative Supervisor. The Administrative Assistant 2s in the police department provide administrative support to all divisions of the Police Department. All the Administrative Assistants in the department will be part of a regular rotation to learn the support needs of each division and cross train for changing operational needs. You must be able to work with frequent interruptions, work independently, communicate effectively, and be knowledgeable in the use of software applications including Word, Excel, Access and Publisher.

Court Coordinator/Scheduler
Purchase requisitions
Training Unit support
Major Crimes transcription
Detective Unit support
Uniform and equipment purchasing
Police Administration support
Compose routine and non-routine documents
Provides customer service to citizens and department staff

Working Conditions:
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or computer terminal. May be required to lift office supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
This position is regularly scheduled to work Monday-Friday. When there is a large case load in the department there may be opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications
This position requires the knowledge of general office practices, procedures, office equipment and the passion to provide excellent customer service. Maintaining confidentiality in sensitive situations is of the utmost importance. You will be expected to perform moderately difficult to complex tasks with specific timelines and sustain a positive team member relationship with other employees, officials and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED
A minimum of three years of experience providing administrative support, or the equivalent of any training, education, and experience that shows proficiency in administrative support.

Required Certification:
Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) certification within 30 days of employment. (Resources to get this certification will be provided by the City of Gresham)

Preferred Qualifications (Ideal candidate will have the demonstrated knowledge, skills and ability to):
Apply general office practices, and procedures, and operate office technologies and equipment
Maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations is the utmost importance
Perform moderately difficult to complex tasks with specific timelines
Provide excellent customer service
Sustain a positive team relationship with other employees, officials, and the public
