The Assistant County Administrator is a new position in the Benton County organization. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced leader to be part of a progressive organization committed to providing the highest levels of service to the Benton County communities. The new Assistant County Administrator will be a strategic problem-solver who has a passion for public service and an aptitude for building high quality relationships.
Job Summary
Under the direction of the County Administrator, the Assistant County Administrator assists in the planning and direction of the operations of the county, carries out the directives of the County Administrator and the Board of Commissioners, and provides personnel management of department directors and professional staff as assigned. The incumbent will assist the County Administrator in coordinating budget, personnel, and administrative policy matters as required to ensure compliance and maintain operational standards. The Assistant County Administrator will report to the County Administrator on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to County administration and operations.

Annual salary range of:
$129,248 - $206,797.
This position is eligible for up to two salary raises within your first year. An Increase may be given at the end of the 6-month probationary period, depending on starting salary, and at the 1-year anniversary, as long as your performance is in good standing! Annual performance-based increases are given until the maximum of the salary range is reached.

Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business or a related field; AND
10 years of related management experience, including at least 5 years of experience supervising professional level staff.
Supervisory experience includes the authority to hire, terminate, assign, reward and discipline other employees.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Valid Oregon Driver's License, or ability to obtain.
Ideal Candidate
Master’s degree in public administration, Business, or related field.
Senior management experience such as Department Director, Assistant Director, or higher.
