Position Overview:
The City of Burns is seeking a dynamic and experienced City Manager to lead our municipal operations and help guide the future of our community. The ideal candidate is a community-focused leader with a deep appreciation for rural values and the importance of public service in small towns. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the City Council, staff, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the chief administrative officer for the City of Burns.
• Implement policies and directives from the City Council.
• Oversee daily operations of all city departments and ensure efficient service delivery.
• Develop and manage the city budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
• Foster strong relationships with community members, civic organizations, and regional partners.
• Lead strategic planning initiatives that support long-term community goals.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in city or public administration, or a related leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in managing people, budgets, and projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and inspire trust in a diverse community.
• A passion for rural life and a commitment to the values of small-town governance.
Preferred Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Public Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in management and city planning is strongly preferred.
