Webinar on EV Charging Station Investment Set for June 7

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) has scheduled a webinar for June 7 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (PDT). The focus will be Oregon’s five-year plan for investing in public DC fast charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EV).

The webinar is targeted for local government involvement, and interested city officials can join the session on June 7 using this link:

During the training, representatives from the ODOT Climate Office will share an overview of federal requirements for this funding, discuss the agency’s plans for community outreach and infrastructure deployment, and provide time for a Q&A.

The webinar will also address these key questions:

  • How can ODOT meet the needs of communities via the federal investment?
  • How can ODOT bring economic value to communities via the federal investment?
  • How can ODOT create equitable access to charging for all Oregon EV drivers?

About the State Plan

Oregon and other states are required to submit a state plan to the federal government outlining how they will allocate federal funding for public EV DC fast charging infrastructure over the next five years. Stakeholder outreach is a critical part of the development of the state plan. The funding is part of the 2021 federal infrastructure bill, distributed under the NEVI program.

ODOT has committed additional state funds to bring the total to $100 million over five years. Learn more about the funding and how it can be spent on ODOT’s dedicated webpage.
