LOC News
Annual State Shared Revenue Forms Due
For the last several weekly LOC Bulletins, cities have been reminded to take necessary steps prior to July 31 to receive quarterly state shared revenue payments (liquor, cigarette, and highway trust fund revenue distributions). If you do not file before July 31, you risk delivery of shared revenue to your community.
The LOC has been making additional direct contact with cities recently. The Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) requires that all cities:
- Pass an ordinance or resolution requesting state shared revenue money;
- Hold public hearings before the budget committee and city council regarding the city’s use of state shared revenues; and
- Submit documentation, such as the short form resolution distributed by DAS, certifying compliance and intent to receive tax revenues in fiscal year 2019-2020.
Additionally, all cities in Clackamas, Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Lane, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Washington and Yamhill counties must an additional certification. View the suggested form.
Certifications should be emailed to Laura.Erich@oregon.gov and Jenna Jones at jjones@orcities.org as soon as possible.
As of Thursday July 24, these 9 cities have not yet returned their documentation:
- Elgin
- Joseph
- Lexington
- Molalla
- Moro
- Oakridge
- Rivergrove
- Scotts Mills
- Unity
If your city has sent in its certifications already and believe this is in error, please let Laura and Jenna know that as well.
