Final Reminder: The ORSOP Survey Due July 26!
Oregon’s Recycling System Optimization Project (ORSOP) is a critical survey that all jurisdictions must complete by July 26. To date, less than one-half the requested jurisdictions have completed 50% or more of the survey.
The LOC is encouraging every city to contact their respective county and hauler to ensure coordination and to make sure the survey information is completed by July 26. Each city and hauling operation should have received a letter directly from RRS with login information. The online survey tool has been updated and is available here. Based on the inquiries received, RRS has created an FAQ that will likely answer many of the questions from a local government or their service providers.
Circular Action Alliance (CAA), the prospective producer responsibility organization (PRO) for Oregon, is working with Resource Recycling Systems (RRS), a third-party contractor, to complete the ORSOP, an essential next step to successfully implementing the Recycling Modernization Act (RMA). The ORSOP is Phase II of the Local Government Needs Assessment Survey submitted by cities in April 2023.
General ORSOP resources can be found here. Those jurisdictions or service providers with questions or needing help responding to the survey can reach out to RRS at 734-274-9408 or via email at orsop.help@recycle.com.
