Recreational Immunity Bill Passes Senate
Legislation making recreational immunity permanent passed the Senate unanimously this week. Landowners in Oregon, public and private, are granted immunity from injury claims when they open their land for recreational purposes. An adverse court ruling stemming from a case involving an injury on a trail brought recreational immunity into question. The Legislature passed a temporary fix in 2024, and now SB 179 makes that adjustment permanent. The bill moves to the House of Representatives for additional consideration.
