CDC and OHA Update Mask Guidelines for the Vaccinated

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has updated its masking guidance for people who have been fully vaccinated to allow for more social gatherings and mask removal in less crowded outdoor areas.  People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the Johnson and Johnson single shot or two weeks after receiving their second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

Late this week, the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) followed suit with its own guidance.  However, the OHA’s updated masking guidance does not change the workplace rules as enforced by the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The LOC is working with other employers to resolve the discrepancies between the OHA, CDC and OSHA regulations in order to provide clear standards for cities as employers and regulators.  This article will be updated when more information becomes available.
