Another Successful City Day on Capitol Hill!
The LOC would like to thank all the mayors, city councilors, youth delegates and city managers who travelled to Washington D.C. this week for another successful National League of Cities Congressional Cities Conference. City leaders from around the state joined LOC staff to network with other cities from across the U.S. and learn about common issues facing cities nationwide.
Over the course of the week, LOC member cities and LOC staff met with every member of Oregon’s congressional delegation, both in small groups and again with the entire travel party. Members of the LOC’s delegation shared priorities and challenges facing communities across the state. The LOC would like to offer a special thank you to Senators Wyden and Merkley, Congresswomen Bonamici, Hoyle, Bynum, Salinas and Dexter, and Congressman Bentz for taking the time to meet with local leaders and hear directly from the cities they serve.
For LOC member cities that we unable to participate this year, we would love to have you join us next year! Watch the LOC Bulletin and your email inbox early next winter for information about the NLC’s 2027 Congressional Cities Conference.
