Deadlines Approaching for PSU Housing Surveys
Cities – Portland State University (PSU) is seeking input from cities across Oregon for their Annual Housing Unit and Population Survey and their Annual Housing Production Survey.
2026 Annual Housing Unit and Population Survey
As mandated by Oregon law (ORS 190.510 to 190.620), PSU’s Population Research Center (PRC) collects housing unit and population information for Oregon's annual population estimates. These estimates help the state distribute its revenue and support decision-makers and planners.
During the week of July 13, the PRC contact person in each city across the state received an email with information to access the online 2026 Annual Housing Unit and Population Survey
The deadline to submit the completed survey is August 12, 2026.
If your city did not receive the email or if you have any questions, please contact the PRC as soon as possible by emailing popest@pdx.edu
2026 Annual Housing Production Survey
The PRC is also administering its Housing Production Survey through an agreement with the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) and Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS). This agreement was forged under: Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 456.601; ORS 197A.110; ORS 197.015; and section 38 of Oregon Laws 2024 chapter 110, collectively the Oregon Housing Needs Analysis program (OHNA). Jurisdictions subject to OHNA are required to report annual data on housing permits and housing production, regulated affordable housing, and accessible housing units.
