Goal 5 Cultural Area Rule Guidance Available for Local Governments
For local governments in need of rules guidance for Goal 5 Cultural Areas, the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) has shared updated guidance and a frequently asked questions document on the agency’s website.
Oregon’s Land Conservation and Development Commission adopted these rules on December 4, 2025. The rules are filed with the Oregon Secretary of State and go into effect January 1, 2027.
Local government and Tribal representatives are invited to join monthly drop-in sessions starting May 26, 2026. Local governments also may reach out to their regional representative to schedule individual technical assistance work sessions. The drop-in sessions will occur every last Tuesday of the month at 10 AM. Pre-registration is required.
