HAPO Updates Technical Assistance for Cities
The Oregon Housing Accountability and Production Office (HAPO) is revising its policies and procedures for technical assistance. Local governments will soon have additional opportunities to access resources to address: voluntary compliance for housing laws; general development code updates amending land use regulations; model code implementation; and one-time expansions of urban growth boundaries.
Requests for technical assistance will be accepted on a rolling basis and otherwise consistent with HAPO’s technical assistance funding policies and procedures. A draft of the updates will be available mid-October and presented virtually at HAPO’s Open Forum on November 2 at 1 p.m.
At the LOC Annual Conference next week in Salem, there will be the opportunity for city attendees to visit with HAPO staff and others from the Oregon Department of Land Conservation & Development to learn more about these changes and other opportunities to access resources that support housing production, affordability, and choice. Staff will be available in the Grand Hotel Board Room from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in Croisan Creek Room A on Friday.
More information can be found in the 101st Annual Conference Program.
