Landlord Compensation Fund Open for Final Round of Applications

Cities are encouraged to help share the news that the state’s Landlord Compensation Fund opened June 1 for a third and final round of applications. The Landlord Compensation Fund Program provides relief to residential landlords who have been unable to collect rent due to tenant financial hardships. Landlords can directly apply for these resources through an online application portal.

Landlords whose applications are accepted and awarded will receive 80% of unpaid rent they are owed by qualified tenants from April 2020 through the application period. They will be required to forgive the remaining 20% of unpaid rent.

Landlords are encouraged to apply by June 18 and all funds must be awarded by June 30. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until remaining funds are obligated. Additional details on the Landlord Compensation Fund and previous funding rounds are available on the Oregon Housing and Community Services website.
