LOC Franchise Fee/ROW Survey Due Today

Cities – the deadline to complete the LOC’s Right-of-Way/Franchise Fee Survey is 5 p.m. today, August 2.  The survey results will guide the updating of the LOC’s database of ROW usage and franchise fees.

ROW fees are consistently under pressure at the Legislature. To effectively defend against industry challenges, it is critical that the LOC compiles detailed information on the franchise fees that cities collect. This information may also be used proactively to pursue legislation regarding protecting and enhancing a city’s right to this critical revenue source. The results also serve as a comparison tool for cities around the state.
