LOC is Hiring Two Lobbyists - Join the LOC Team!

The League of Oregon Cities is hiring two lobbyists to join its Intergovernmental Relations team. These positions play a key role in advocating for Oregon’s 241 cities at the Legislature and with state and federal partners. The positions will support two specific policy portfolios:

  • Tax, Finance, & Economic Development Portfolio: The lobbyist covering these policy issues works on matters ranging from property tax, municipal budgeting and audit requirements, tax credit programs, economic incentives, and more. This role also supports revenue reform conversations as guided by the LOC Board of Directors, which includes a public education effort.
  • General Government & Public Safety Portfolio: The lobbyist covering these policy issues works on matters ranging from law enforcement, emergency management, employee/labor relations, public meetings and ethics, public records, PERS, and more. This role supports policy needs related to key operational functions for cities, as a public body, an employer, and in cities’ charge of maintaining public safety.

For these positions, the LOC is looking for skilled legislative strategists with a strong political acumen, knowledge of municipal tax and finance issues, and experience building coalitions around complex policy conversations.

These are opportunities to help cities speak with one voice, defend home rule, and advance policies that support thriving communities across the state. The application deadline is April 17th. Review the full job posting here.
