Oregon Housing Needs Analysis Expected to Advance

The House Housing and Homelessness Committee has introduced HB 2889 as a priority bill, intended to implement the Oregon Housing Needs Analysis (OHNA) coming out of the recent DLCD legislative recommendations report.  The bill and -1 amendments received a public hearing on Thursday.

HB 2889 has support from both parties and chambers and is expected to pass the House Housing and Homelessness Committee by the end of next week as part of a proposed 60-day emergency housing package.

The bill would establish housing production targets and add accountability and reporting standards to the current housing production strategy requirements for cities with a population of 10,000 or more.
