One Month Left to Vote for LOC Legislative Priorities
Time is running out for member cities to help shape the LOC’s 2027-28 legislative priorities - cities have until 5 p.m. on September 25 to submit their votes. As of August 25, less than 13% of cities have submitted their vote. Thank you to those that have submitted your vote or planned conversations with your council!
The 27 priorities in the 2026 Member Voting Guide were developed by the seven LOC policy committees after months of meeting and wide-ranging discussions. Issues range from infrastructure funding, public meeting reform, land use streamlining, and more are included in the guide. Each city will vote for its top five priorities.
While each city may have a different process when evaluating the issues, it’s important for cities to engage with their mayor and entire council to ensure the selected issues represent a shared set of priorities. In June, city managers/administrators received a link to vote. If your city did not receive a ballot link or need help in submitting their vote, please reach out to Meghyn Fahndrich at mfahndrich@orcities.org.
Member votes will help determine what of these priorities become part of the 2027-28 LOC legislative agenda. The LOC Board of Directors will formally adopt the agenda during their October meeting, guiding the work of the LOC Intergovernmental Relations Department for the next two years.
