Oregon Communities Celebrate Water Professionals Appreciation Week

Oregon's first Water Professionals Appreciation Week concludes Sunday, October 11, recognizing the dedicated professionals who provide safe drinking water, manage wastewater and stormwater, and protect public health across the state.

Several cities and utilities marked the inaugural celebration in the following ways: the city of Westfir adopted a resolution recognizing the week; Oregon City highlighted its water professionals and workforce development opportunities.

The city of Hillsboro and Joint Water Commission shared employee spotlights; and Clean Water Services recognized its workforce through a board proclamation. The city of Grants Pass also invited the public to tour its drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities.

The LOC thanks everyone who participated in this inaugural celebration and encourages cities to continue recognizing the people who keep Oregon's water systems running everyday.

Did your city celebrate? Share your photos, proclamations, or employee highlights with the LOC so we can continue showcasing Oregon's water professionals.
