At the federal level, more than $23 million has been awarded from Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) programs for the 2020-2022 discretionary Surface Transportation Program grants. In addition, more than $16 million has been awarded from the CARES Act. Here’s an overview:
- $12.4 million in FTA Bus and Bus Facilities Program (Section 5339) funds:
- $4.1 million in FTA Mass Transit Vehicle Replacement Program (Section 5307) funds.
- $2.2 million in FTA Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (Section 5310) funds.
- $5 million in FHWA Surface Transportation Program Block Grant funds.
- $9.3 million in Formula CARES Act awards.
- Ongoing needs-based recommended CARES Act awards.
The needs-based CARES Act awards will continue to be granted throughout 2020 as applications are received, reviewed and approved by ODOT’s Public Transportation Division. For more information, see the division’s funding opportunities.
