UO Sustainable City Year Program Seeking City Partners

Looking to Add Capacity and Leverage Resources to Solve Your City’s Biggest Challenges in the New Year?

The University of Oregon’s Sustainable City Year Program (SCYP) is looking for a 2026-27 academic year city partner and is ready to help your community explore solutions to its biggest challenges! SCYP makes it easy to access the full breadth of expertise at the University of Oregon, while training the next generation Oregon workforce. If your city is trying to figure out how best to address housing, transportation, land use planning and design, economic development, revenue alternatives, community outreach, and more, let’s work together.

This year SCYP is working on a variety of projects with multiple cities across the state including Oakridge, Tualatin, Estacada, Gresham, and Gladstone.

“We’re excited to partner with the Sustainable City Year Program because it provides the community an amazing opportunity to explore different aspects of the downtown district including design, economic development, sustainability, and community identity while providing students with real life experience by harnessing their enthusiasm and creativity for problem solving.” – Frank Bubenik, Tualatin City Mayor

Interested in becoming our next partner?

Rolling deadline, with priority given to communities expressing interest by March 2, 2026.
