Join CIS for a Legislative and Legal Updates Webinar

As the 2021 legislative session came to a close, new laws affecting CIS members are headed to Governor Brown’s desk for her signature and many others were already signed into law. There are new employment laws addressing changes to OFLA; new burdens on employers and employees engaged in litigation over whistleblower claims; new discrimination provisions under Oregon law; and training and recordkeeping requirements for law enforcement personnel. The results of intense debate over law enforcement reform bills during the 2021 legislative session will also be discussed.

Join CIS on July 8 to discuss these legislative updates. Additionally, we’ll talk about the legislative “bullets” CIS members avoided, such as proposed changes to qualified immunity and a law that would have given any citizen the right to act like a private attorney general. Join General Counsel Kirk Mylander and Deputy General Counsel Tamara Russell Jones as they provide a revealing look at the new laws and guidance for navigating them, including any recommended adjustments to policies and practices to track these new laws.
