LOC’s Latest Elections Report Now Available

Even with a slight uptick in voter turnout once the final ballots were counted, a 23% statewide voter turnout is not something to boast about.  Several Oregon counties had voter turnouts of less than 20%, and just six counties had turnouts exceeding 30%, with Morrow County leading all counties at 39%.

As for the content of the elections, the vast majority of all local ballots were dominated by school board elections and positions for local districts.  Statewide, there were only 60 city measures on the ballot, with three-quarters of those focused on financial questions related to bonds, levies, or tax proposals.

For cities, the results were mixed, but overall, 62% of the local measures were passed.  School districts had only 9% of their measures fail, while counties saw success in just 40%  of their measures.

The LOC’s full election summary is available here. There may be some last-minute changes as county elections are certified, so please reach out to your respective county election office as needed.
