NACWA Hosting Webinar Series on Class Action Litigation
0The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) has graciously extended access to its webinar series on “Class Action Litigation: What Clean Water Utilities Need to Know” and “Class Action Litigation: Proposed PFAS Settlements” to both NACWA members and non-members. If you are interested, please see the information below.
Cities are encouraged to discuss this matter with their legal counsel.
From per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and other contaminants to disposable wipes, utilities are increasingly facing potential involvement in class action litigation. Whether as a defendant or as a potential member of a proposed plaintiff’s “class,” utilities have to make decisions in cases involving thousands of parties, complicated legal procedures, and very high stakes. To help arm clean water utilities with the information they need to make the best decisions for their communities, NACWA will be hosting two webinars on class action litigation. Please note that separate registration is required for each webinar:

Discussion topics will include what utilities can expect to see if they are involved in a class action case, how class action settlements are structured and what rights they may impact, and the key considerations utilities should keep in mind as they navigate these complex lawsuits.
