TLT Priority Bill Passed Out of House Committee
HB 3962 passed out of the House Committee on Revenue Thursday evening with the -14 amendment. The amended bill changes the restricted portion of post-2003 transient lodging taxes (TLT) from 70% towards tourism promotion and tourism-related facilities and 30% discretionary, to 40% towards tourism promotion and tourism-related facilities and 60% discretionary. The bill also allows grandfathered cities to move to the new 40/60 split if they opt to. HB 3962 now heads to the House Floor for a vote.
LOC member cities are encouraged to reach out to their House and Senate members in support of this TLT bill. It should move quickly through the Senate as the legislative session winds down to a close, so quick outreach is necessary.
