Voting Now Open for 2027-28 Legislative Priorities
The voting process to determine the LOC’s 2027-28 legislative priorities has begun. Each city will cast one vote and have until 5 p.m. on September 25 to submit it.
After months of meetings and wide-ranging discussions, the seven LOC policy committees identified 27 legislative priorities to advance to the full membership and LOC Board of Directors. These priorities are included in the 2026 Member Voting Guide. LOC staff hopes our members will join us in thanking city officials from across the state who dedicated their time and expertise to craft these priorities. The best way to share your appreciation? Submit your vote before the September deadline!
While each city may have a different process when evaluating the issues, it’s important for cities to engage with their mayor and entire council to ensure the selected issues represent a shared set of priorities. Earlier this week, city managers/administrators throughout the state received a link to vote. Cities that did not receive a ballot link or need an alternative way to vote should reach out to Meghyn Fahndrich with the LOC at mfahndrich@orcities.org.
Member votes will help determine which of these priorities become part of the 2027-28 LOC legislative agenda. The LOC Board of Directors will formally adopt the agenda during their October meeting, guiding the work of the LOC Intergovernmental Relations Department for the next two years. We look forward to your input.
