The City of Tukwila, WA, is seeking a visionary leader to guide their Public Works Department into an exciting future. As Public Works Director, you’ll lead a talented team delivering essential services and driving ambitious capital projects in one of the Puget Sound region’s most diverse and dynamic cities. From preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to launching innovative green infrastructure programs and revitalizing aging bridges and utilities, you’ll play a key role in shaping Tukwila’s growth and sustainability.
The Opportunity:
Lead and implement a $297M capital improvement program
Manage three vital utilities serving 22,600+ residents
Build collaborative relationships across departments and with regional partners
Drive innovation in infrastructure design standards and permit processes
