This training will cover why Oregon’s budgeting system is considered one of the most progressive in the nation. It will provide an overview of Oregon’s unique local government budgeting process, best practices, tools, and strategies to optimize the budgeting processes and document, community engagement, and procurement practices. We will also review what goes into the foundation of the budget, setting goals, developing priorities and/or a work plan, and leveraging these items to better communicate the budget. Whether you've participated in the budget process a dozen times or are new to Oregon public budgeting, we hope this session will offer valuable insights and practical guidance to enhance your knowledge in participating in the municipal budgeting process.
