Testimony Needed in Support of Governor's Housing Infrastructure Bill

Cities – the LOC needs your testimony in support of infrastructure for housing. Governor Kotek’s housing bill (HB 3031) would establish a new Housing Infrastructure program to fund water, sewer, stormwater, and transportation infrastructure linked to new housing development.

The LOC is supportive of infrastructure for housing. Cities across Oregon cite infrastructure costs as the main barrier implementing housing development as part of the effort to increase production across the state.

A hearing on HB  3031 is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26 at 1 p.m. The LOC will be making a presentation, and cities are encouraged to submit testimony on the bill that emphasizes:

  1. Cities support infrastructure for housing; and
  2. Program availability for all cities.

As this bill is still in development, the time is now for cities to communicate their support of infrastructure for housing. Sharing your city’s unique perspective is essential to the overall goal of building needed infrastructure for housing.
