Oregon Fire Service Mental Health Survey
The Governor's Fire Service Policy Council (GFSPC) created a behavioral health survey specifically designed for fire departments across Oregon, recognizing the critical need to address the pervasive challenges of suicide, post-traumatic stress, and substance abuse within our fire service community.
Please review the below information from the GFSPC and consider asking your fire service leadership to complete the survey by January 8, 2024:
Suicide, post-traumatic stress, and substance abuse have and will continue to take the lives of our fellow firefighters until we address their root causes. This survey will be crucial in identifying best practices in first responder behavioral health, identifying deficits of the current systems, and offering alternatives to empower Oregon’s first responders and their families. We implore you to participate in this survey and help our fire service members to thrive in the profession we all love.
