Join Us for a Webinar on CIP Funding
The LOC and the Association of Oregon Counties (AOC) are hosting a webinar on how to obtain local funding through the federal Community Initiated Projects (CIP) program next Friday, February 7 from 9-10 a.m.
To ensure cities and counties are aware of the federal funding opportunity and are prepared to meet the February 23 deadline, staff from the offices of U.S. Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley will be on the webinar to provide details on the process and answer questions.
For the fiscal year 2026 appropriations cycle, the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations will likely accept requests from senators regarding their funding priorities. These CIPs – also known as Congressionally Directed Spending or Community Project Funding - can promote economic development, education, health care initiatives, and other worthy investments in communities across the country. Last year, state and local governments, Tribes, and 501(c)(3) organizations were the only entities eligible for CIP requests, and that remains the expectation for fiscal year 26.
To help make the webinar run efficiently, please submit questions in advance to the LOC’s Meghyn Fahndrich at mfahndrich@orcities.org. If possible, please submit questions by February 5 at noon.
You can join the webinar here.
