Biden Administration Announces 100% FEMA Reimbursement

President Biden has instructed the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide a 100% reimbursement for all work and costs eligible for cost share under Schedule B of the FEMA Public Assistance Program.  Schedule B covers costs associated with emergency protective care, such as emergency operation center costs, personal protective equipment and facility sanitizing.  This schedule also covers costs and work to provide shelter to persons in a disaster.  As a result, federal participation will expand significantly in efforts to provide housing and safe isolation.  The LOC has been an active participant in Project Turnkey, a state-funded effort to purchase hotels for use as non-congregate sheltering.  Cities should contact their county emergency manager and consult the FEMA Public Assistance Manual for more details.
